The programs and clinics offered by the Bernards Township Health Department promote disease prevention and early detection and
treatment of chronic diseases such as Obesity, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Cancer, and Diabetes. We design and conduct these health
prevention programs to make them convenient and available to our residents.
Child Health Conference: Childhood immunization program in conjunction with the NJ Vaccine for Children program. Held the second
Tuesday of each month at St. James R.C. Church, 184 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge from 8:45-11:45 AM, in cooperation with the

Annual Health Screening: Health screening program usually held in early May with registration starting in early April. Screening includes
blood test, urinalysis, stool blood test, and blood pressure measure to screen for chronic diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, heart
disease and more.
Low-Cost Mammography Program: Ongoing program conducted in conjunction with The Radiology Center at Harding. Offered to women with no
insurance or a high deductible. To receive a voucher stop by the health department.
Low-Cost Female Cancer Screening: Ongoing program offered to uninsured women over the age of 20 who have not had a well-woman exam within
the past year. One gynecological visit that includes medical history, physical, clinical breast exam, cervical cancer screening, and patient
education by the Women’s Health & Counseling Center. Call the health department for more information. Vouchers must be picked up in person
at the health department.
Male Cancer Screening: For men, usually held in June, including a PSA blood test, examination by a
board-certified Urologist, blood pressure
check and cancer prevention information.
Rabies Clinics: Free rabies shot clinics conducted by Veterinarian and Animal Control Officer in November, December, and January to inoculate
dogs and cats against rabies.
Radon Detection Program: The Bernards Township Health Department is pleased to announce the availability of radon detection canisters for
residents of Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, Chester Borough, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, and Peapack and Gladstone Borough.
To obtain your radon canister, please visit the Bernards Township Health Department at 262 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge during the hours
of 8:30am – 4:30pm. The cost is $10, while supplies available.
Skin Cancer Screening: Program held in July for early detection of skin cancer with confidential exams by a board-certified dermatologist.
Seasonal Influenza: Clinics held in October providing Seasonal Flu shots.
