Couples
wishing to register a Domestic Partnership must be same sex couples OR opposite
sex couples who are both 62 years of age or older and provided that the couples
meet the requirements.
Applicants must obtain an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership from any Local
Registrar's Office with the State of New
Jersey. The Affidavit must be completed and signed by
both applicants at the same time, in the presence of a notary. After completion
of the Affidavit the couple must make an appointment at the local Registrars
office to apply for an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership. Both Affidavits will
be filed at the State Registrars Office in New Jersey. A fee of $28.00 is required at
this time.
